Rogers Elementary Student Leadership award winners and family

At its regular Board Meeting in early November, the ISD 728 School Board took time to honor and present certificates to student leaders from around the District, continuing a time-honored tradition.

In October, honorees from Hassan, Parker and Rogers Elementary schools took center stage. Here's a feature on each of the honorees submitted by their principals/teachers.

Oliver Ruble

Oliver exemplifies what it means to be a “fantastic human being.” Oliver lives by our core beliefs each day, making a positive impact on our school community. From the first day of school, Oliver has made everyone around him feel welcomed and valued. We had 3 new students in our class this year. When everyone else ran ahead at recess, Oliver would wait back and make sure these classmates had someone to play with.  Oliver consistently acts with honesty and respect. Even when no one is watching, he chooses to do what is right. Whether it’s during group work, in the classroom, or on the playground, Oliver's actions reflect a strong sense of ethics and reliability. Teachers and students alike know they can trust Oliver to be fair and truthful.

Ethan Uhlin

Ethan shows kind and responsible behavior each and every day. He shows up on time with a smile for his classmates and teachers. Ethan shows compassion for others and always includes everyone. He listens carefully, participates fully, and models for others to do the same. What a well deserved honor, indeed!  Congratulations, Ethan!
